    華通美國游學(xué)提示如果想更深入的了解夏威夷的風(fēng)俗習(xí)慣，就必須了解夏威夷在白人文明之前的習(xí)俗，即夏威夷卡普制度時(shí)期的風(fēng)俗習(xí)慣。卡普制度是在1820年左右消亡的舊時(shí)的夏威夷，社會(huì)等級(jí)森嚴(yán)?？ㄆ罩贫葎澐秩说牡燃?jí)和規(guī)定男尊女卑。社會(huì)等級(jí)最高的是酋長(zhǎng)和牧師，最低的是奴隸，中間的是平民?？ㄆ罩贫纫?guī)定不同等級(jí)的人在什么地方捕魚打獵，在什么地方種田收獲，在什么海灘游泳嬉戲，吃什么樣的東西，怎么樣穿戴，違者就是死罪。夏威夷人相信神靈、相信宿命，他們認(rèn)為神的能力大小由排在神的家族中的輩份和年齡而定，因而人的地位高低也由家族在社會(huì)中的地位和人在家族中的輩份和年齡而定。
